Vanderbilt is preparing for Year 2 under coach Clark Lea, who led the Commodores to a 2-10 record during the 2021 campaign.
As the Commodores prepare for the 2022 season, they’re dealing with some attrition via the transfer portal.
On Monday evening, it was revealed that backup LB Michael Mincey, a freshman during the 2021 season, was entering the portal to explore his transfer options:
Vanderbilt LB Michael Mincey has entered the portal. Mincey appeared in one game during his freshman season with the Commodores. Was a three-star recruit.@MMincey33 @VandySportscomhttps://t.co/VfoHHIxQFL

Mincey appeared in 1 game for the Commodores in 2021, but didn’t record any stats. He was also a member of the Commodores’ track team as a sprinter, running the 100- and 200-meter events and the 4×100 and 4×200 relays.
Where he ends up next remains to be seen, but his time in Nashville has likely come to an end.
