TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Tuscaloosa police are investigating an aerial assault near Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday afternoon, although it had nothing to do with the three interceptions of Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott.

Rather they’re looking into someone being struck by a drone just before Alabama kicked off its high-profile game against the then-No. 1 Bulldogs.

According to the Tuscaloosa News, a white Phantom Drone was recovered from a parking lot on 12th Avenue near Bryant Drive at 2:30 p.m. Police released photos of the man they believe to have been operating the drone, and described him as “a Tuscaloosa native who now lives out of state.”

The drone operator could be charged with reckless endangerment. His name was not released.

Note: In addition to the drone striking an individual before it crashed, It is against FAA regulations to fly a drone within three miles of an NCAA D1 stadium.
