Muschamp was considered Auburn’s top target to replace the fired Ellis Johnson. The Tigers will announce Muschamp this weekend “barring any last-minute snags,” AuburnUndercover.com reported.
Muschamp’s secondary coach at Florida, and former Auburn All-SEC safety, Travaris Robinson is expected to join Muschamp’s staff at Auburn.
News broke on Friday that Muschamp had interviewed for the head coaching vacancy at Houston, according to multiple media reports. Muschamp has since removed his name from consideration.
Texas A&M, and reportedly South Carolina, was also courting Muschamp in addition to a few NFL organizations.
