As a fan base who had to experience this same exact thing in Feb of 1988, we’re with with you MSU. Have Coach Leach tell Coach Morrison we said “Hello”.
Ain’t no question….Leach would’ve wanted them to march on! Will be pulling for State that day from SC!
In honor of the HBC…..we shall now call the live rooster: “Steve”. Hey, LSU has “Mike the Tiger”……we can have “Steve the Rooster”
Or "queue".....however you choose to spell it.
.........Aaaaaand que the Muschamp haters.
"Agreed in principle".....??? So, you haven't signed anything yet, and this basically means nothing. OK....
" Multiple sources have reported that Herman, whose Cougars are 11-1, is no longer a candidate for the position." Absolute rubbish! I grow tired of doing journalism for journalist..... Pat Forde and Chris Lowe of ESPN wrote on the same day, oddly enough almost identical articles stating Herman had withdrawn his name for the SC job. Every single story since then is nothing but copy and pasting of their articles. The articles only cite unknown "sources", and one player who commented and most likely paraphrased what Herman said in a closed door team meeting. It was something to the effect of, "he(Herman) told us he killed the SC deal.......and that if something's going to happen, it won't be now......it would be at the end of the season and have to wait and see what happens". I would expect a head coach who's team is about to play for the AAC championship game to calm the waters in his locker room. But evidently, he did not tell them an absolute and resounding "NO" now did he? Tom Herman, himself is NOT ON RECORD stating that he has withdrawn his name from the SC job. A player said that. Houston board of directors have voted and approved a $3 mil deal for Herman, of which he has not signed yet. So if he's "really" and "truly" wanting to stay at Houston and not entertain any other jobs out there...................then why not come out and say it??? Simple, that's because he doesn't want to lie and more is going on with this than you know. Ray Tanner at SC has been on this guy (and or rather his agent) like white on rice for over a month..........you think that just all of the sudden before Houston plays for the AAC title it just falls apart???? No, not hardly...... The "only" on camera interview Herman has done since this news from Forde/Lowe broke on Wednesday was conducted by Mark Berman of Fox Sports, also on Wednesday. Its a real short clip, but it shows Herman, not answering specifically any questions, grinning and shaking his head the whole time and looking around (psychological signs of saying, "I have more to tell, but I'm not telling you now.") and referring to and "chalking all of this up as rumors from the cybershpere and that you can't believe what you read on the internet. Coach Speak for: "there's more to this than you know." Because once again, if he was staying, then why not just say it. The SC/Herman deal is very, very much alive.......believe that. ;-)
This article is pure and total bull-lonney! A guy, ONE GUY (probably sitting in his parents basement) tweeted today that Herman was interested in the job......this guy had less than 100 followers. Secondly, Herman himself has never taken his name out of contention for the SC job. A player was interviewed saying he "killed the SC deal" and the went onto say Herman told them in a team meeting that he "didn't know what would happen, if anything, and that a decision would be made later on/at season's end." He calmed the waters to get the Houston team to focus on the AAC championship game. But neve and at no time has he been quoted saying he has removed his name from the SC job. Ray Tanner is courting this guy hard and has been so for a month now. If you think for one minute that all has come to a halt, you've got another thing coming. I've got better sense to listen to a knee-jerk journalist like Pat Forde, who's been more wrong than a 1970's weather man, and a guy on Twitter with 100 followers. Laughable. But that's ok, this will all be over soon, real soon. :-)
Yeah, Verne and Gary may goof up every now and then (usually just getting a players name wrong. A very common thing to do when you show up that morning and are given two team rosters with 70 players names on each)....but overall, they are very good and very entertaining. ......You want to talk about who truly sucks? How about Dave Neal and Andre Ware! Geez, it's as bad as listening to Pam Ward call a game!
The only thing that could be worse is if he was wearing jorts during the video.........gay, absolutley gay!
@tonytiger.....yeah, we're whining alright. We just celebrated having the 3rd best JUCO class in the country and yet another top 20 class in 5 years. Pizzou, hasn't even sniffed the top 30 in the same time period. (per rivals.com) Go whine on that. :P
Blowing a 17 point lead in the 4th quarter at home.............that's called getting manhandled. Or maybe it was the 31-10 butt whopping the year before? You decide.
Couldn't agree more Bamatime...... Every time I'm on this blog, all I ever see is the same ole Mizzwho fans whining. They should feel lucky to be where they are. They are the "Clemson" of the SEC. A team who weasels their way into the conference championship game each year only to have been getting man-handled by a team more deserving earlier in the year in the sec. This past year it was UGA who moped the floor with them 45-0 or something like that, last year it was South Carolina.
Just a few things to note...... Marcus Lattimore rushed for 3,444 yards and 41 touchdowns in 3 years.......yes, but both knee injuries happened in and around the middle of the season in both his sophomore and junior seasons.........so it's basically like he put up those numbers in only 2 years worth of games.... And Nick Chubb is still on the "undetermined" list.....??? Did you see what kind of freshman season he had? Whatever....
Dear Ole Miss fans: YOU DON'T WANT THIS GUY ON YOUR TEAM, HE IS A BAD APPLE. This guy went to Clemson and was a cancer to the team.... -he called Cole Stoudt (current Clemson backup QB) before he arrived on campus to tell him he was going to be taking his job. -he was escorted off campus and from a practice by campus police.......now think about that for a minute.......what do you have to do to be "escorted away from practice by police"? Rumor was he took a swing at a coach. -So now he gets into a fist fight at a night club with bouncers and threatens to "shoot the place up". (was written in a different article today) If I was his uncle; Jim Kelly, I would disown this piece of trash. Again, this guy is more than just getting into "a little trouble", he is beyond thuggish, he's a BAD APPLE.
I really wish everyone would give it a rest with the whole "alternate uniforms/helmets" crap. It's worse than women trying on different dresses for the prom.
South Carolina will be moving into 3rd place as soon as Muschamp gets here with his 1.8 to 2 million dollar deal....
True, the rumors don't amount to much at this point.....he could go anywhere, or he could sit on $6 mill and go nowhere. However, it anyone has an advantage, it's clearly SOUTH CAROLINA. -They will pay to have him, make no mistake about it. Spurrier has taken pay cuts in the past to throw more at his assistants. Even creating new titles so others keep the same level of pay. No doubt SOS and SC would make him the highest in college football if given the chance. -Spurrier finally said he's got 3 more years left last week. Never before has the HBC put in and exact timetable to when he's stepping down. We all know the HBC likes to mince words to keep the press and other teams guess, but he doesn't lie. -Mahlzan and Sumlin aren't retiring anytime soon, but we know the HBC is. WM wants to be a div 1A head coach.....no other vehicle in the SEC can get him there faster than SC with an established program and foundation on the rise. The choice is yours Will, where do you wanna go that wants you and can give you what you want? Nuff said.
I had no idea Pharroh was #2.......Hmmm. Only a sohpomore. :-)
No gripes here..... This is a good hire IMO. I agree with the article, it doesn't look sexy, but when he starts back winning 10+ games a year at UF no one will care how it looked when he was hired.
Yeah, what was I thinking......I mean, UGA only went into your own house and run you off your own field 34-0.........so deserving of an SEC-E Championship. And I'm glad you can celebrate your two wins over us before you came to this conference, one in 2005 and one in 1979....nice. But so far since being in the sec, you are 1-2 against us. Keep thumping your chest....LOL. Lucky for you, this is a rebuilding year for us or you would be 0-3.
FSU will be out of the CFB Playoff soon enough......no way they can beat State or Bama.
.....One more thing.... The SC-Clem game is too far down on this list. It's the 3rd longest uninterrupted rivalry in ALL of college football. No one even on this list is longer. (only two longer are Minnesota/Wisconsin and Lehigh-Lafayette) It is also the 8th longest rivalry period.....also no one on this list is longer. It's an "in-state" game. Just my two cents.....I know some will disagree, and that is ok, because I could care less.
2009 was Dabo's first year as head coach.
.....And the author has got something wrong here..... Dabo Sweeney was not "head coach" in 2008 when Clemson last beat SC. He was "interim coach" and took over for Tommy Bowden just 4 games prior. He was not named head coach until after that game and after the season was over.
Agree! Mizzwho is no where near the best team in the SEC-E, nor were they last year.......I don't see how they continue to weasel their way to the top the last two years. UGA deserves the go represent the East......they certainly have the best shot.
South Carolina.....#16 class in the country.....??? Where do you get this from???? As of today, Rivals.com has SC at #3, Scout.com has them at #5 and ESPN has them at #7. ......But you have them at #16? Oooookay.
Uh, gee, I dunno.......maybe because Florida in ruins is still better than any year in the history of MSU football? More boosters, more money, more prestige. Maybe because he's already coached there in the past, and wanted the job initially when Urban left..........yeah, I can't think of any reasons.....
@rriffe: yeah, you enjoy your season too while you can. As soon as Muschamp is fired, Foley will stroke that check and Mullen will be on the first plane to Gainesville. LMAO
