~I LOATHE pretty much everything about msu but this is beyond stupid. Although overall, it looks like it's minor stuff that can be repaired/removed...the fact of the matter is that it's still destruction of property! There is no need for it - EVER & I hope they catch the idiots who did it - then punish them. If 'fans" of Ole Miss are responsible for this I hope they are caught & punished. This is tacky & classless and not the actions of people who are the True/real fans of Ole Miss. (~ Also, to the UM fans on here saying that the EB doesn't/didn't matter...you are full of BS. If it didn't, you wouldn't be on here trying to write it off as insignificant ~ Just shut the hell up about it and quit embarrassing yourself/other Rebels any further. )
wow, there is the whinny arky fans that the sec just loves..... Let me get this correct; you think that a 2016 Ark team who is 4-1(0-1)(currently ranked 12 in SEC) bc they barely beat a 2-3 C-usa team at home, a 2-2 sunbelt team at home, a 1-3 swac team at home, pulled out a ot win over then ranked #15 tcu (ill give kudos for that one) and lost by 21 pts to a then #10 secw should be ranked higher after possible 2 top 10 losses than a 2016 UMiss team who is 3-2(1-1)(currently ranked 6t in SEC) (2 losses by 2 top 5 teams) bc they went on rd and lost to then #4 FSU by 11, lost to #1 bama by 5, beat then #12 UGA by 31 and won 2 other non-conf games by at least 20 pts all because a final unranked 2015 ark team who finished 8-5(5-3) beat a final #9/10 ranked 2015 UMiss who won the Sugar Bowl over #16 OSU by 28pts and finished 10-3(6-2) lost to ark in OT LAST YEAR bc of a jacked up play.....wow, and here i thought msu fans were delusional. just bc we've been there, I would suggest you focus on your team and their next opponent than what other schools that you won't play for over a week is currently ranked...but bless your heart & God Bless.
...yeah, still not really considering a Monday night game in Orlando, Fla a "neutral spot" against FSU. I know, technicalities. It's going to be interesting. oh well, Hotty Toddy! #FinsUp
as far as all the stats/reports/forecasts..etc....most of what i've seen/heard has the West coming down to Bama & lsu. with my Rebels, tam & arky fighting for 3rd - have seen mixed reports but most have Ole Miss losing to either tam or ark putting us 4th - with msu & aub as bottom two. As much as i hate to admit it, i never overlook or count msu out but i know they won't have Dak to help carry them and like Aub, i'm not sure who all they lost. I know my Rebels have a heck of a schedule, as like all west teams...but if we can stay healthy, play like i think we can & not get distracted by the neg cloud over us....i can see lsu/bama/Ole Miss as top 3 with arky getting a slight edge over tam bc of an win at mizzou then msu with a slight edge over auburn bc of it being at s'ville. this of course is all speculation and just good ol' preseason talk....but to keep it going, here are my Win chance percentages for my Rebels. 1) @fsu: 45% 2) wofford 95% 3) bama 49% - within 6 4) uga 65% 5) mem 78% 6) @ark 50% within 3 7) @lsu 50% within 9 8) aub 75% 9) ga sthn 80% 10) @tam 51% within 7 11) @vandy 70% within 10 12) msu 55% within 13 oh well...it is what it will be...
Amen!!! ....wait - there are other conferences?!?!
wow...I love my Rebels but I just wish we wouldn't have jumped so high...maybe to #7 or 8....OH well....rest up today and then get back at it, we have another game coming up! HOTTY TODDY!!!
look i love my Rebels...but our D is not all that....they have been subpar so far - they are slow and being spread out too easily plus allowing 21 pts & over 300 yrs to Fresno State & almost 300 to UTM - is nothing to brag about. Our offense needs to find a real run game. Our pass needs to fine tuned. Our front is not holding the way they need too....so don't bite off more crow than you can swallow here! Can we beat bama?....sure........will we? - well time will tell! Are we a lock to win?...hell no! I want nothing more to score another 73 pts, esp against bama - but i'm also realistic and more than likely it will come down to a questionable call that favors bama...haha anyway, GO Rebs - Hotty Toddy! #gotohellanyonewhocallsusblackbears
As a Rebel, I don't think we need to be in the top 10 yet. We've played subpar teams and are still allowing points and too many yards. Even Coach agrees that our D is not playing well. Next week, it will be very different. I think 15 is just right until we truly prove ourselves.....now if we upset Bama with a 73-21 win....then I would agree that we need to be in the top 10...till then we have to prove it. Hotty Toddy!!!
like the ones above said...it's actual pop within "city lines." For instance, the subdivision I live in is right on the Oxford city line. In our sub alone we have easily 200 people. If you factor in the County push that number up to 50k plus. If you also factor surrounding counties & towns that work in Oxford city then add another up to another 10K. Then in add in our students....i'm sure it's the same way with s'ville & the rest of the cities. Once again, another haphazard article....oh well.... Hotty Toddy
I'm curious as to what you consider the top 3 to 5 restaurants in Oxford....
While #'s 18 & 10 are revered to all Rebels, the #38 of Chucky Mullins is the most sacred at Ole Miss. Not only is it sacred to every Ole Miss player, coach, student, alumnus & fan but to many Vanderbilt persons as well. Granted every school has sacred & honorable #'s, but to list Ole Miss and not include #38 just shows that we have another haphazard blogger trying to write about sports....oh well, better luck on your next piece.
"1. ALABAMA — The Crimson Tide’s best win of the season" - hahah now that is funny... should read more like 1. ALABAMA — The Crimson Tide’s best game the refs gave them."
yeah, we can get & have enough of the powder blues....they are horrible, the helmets & the shoes!
Just watched the play from cbs and the Ole Miss player didn't stomp and/or kick the player. Some are reporting that he kicked him in the head and his foot didn't even touch his head. It honestly looked like he was trying to knock the ball out...
Thoughts & Prayers go out to K Drake. I hate when any player gets hurt but this one really bad. I hope he has a speedy & successful recovery.
It's articles like this, that just drives me crazy. They take a comment and blow it way out of the water and make it worse than it is. What Prewitt said is accurate of Alabama & Ole Miss. It's not smack talk, it's just fact. 1) “But we don’t really think Bama is as good as they have been.": well it's true and EVERYONE outside Bama fan's have been thinking this with the way they have been playing. Not saying Bama is not good, just not "AS good as they HAVE been." They played horribly against WVa and escaped by 10 but should have been by 30. Even though I like USM, they should have blown them out 70-0 and not let them score and they were also sloppy against Fla in the 1st qtr. SO NO, they are NOT as good as they have been. Simple observation. 2) " And we’re (Ole Miss) better than we have been.": This is true. Yes, BW is still driving us crazy with ball turnovers but he is still one of the top qb's in the nation, but in general we are still a much better & very talented team than we have been in a long, long, LONG time. Again, simple observation. 3) Did he say that UM was going to beat UA, NO. He made 2 legit points and idiot "writers" like this one are blowing everything up. 4) Yes, this is a big game for us, just like the MSU, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas & now the A&M game. It always is, no matter the rankings - we are all fighting for the top spot in the SECwest & the SEC. Will Ole Miss beat Bama? I don't know, I hope so but we will have to wait till Saturday. Could UM beat Bama? Sure, it's been done before. Besides, Any team can beat another team on any given gameday. Oh well, that is my opinion....HOTTY TODDY!!!!
I'm not saying Ole Miss is all that....but don't discount Boise State who had their worst year last year at 8-5, yes a lot of lower level teams...but they have taken down ranked P5 teams every year with exception of last yr of course. Yes UM/Bo has to be better if anything good is going to happen for us - but don't count us out of anything yet either, after 1 game. It wasn't that long ago that Aub scraped out a 9 pt win at home over Ole Miss....
not the best numbers...but for a non-SEC Thursday night game in Atlanta - not to bad - esp when the majority were Rebels...(reported that BS only had less than 1500). Had our game been on Sat or another SEC team, i think we would have more than doubled those numbers easily. oh well, I hope we have a good turn out in Nashville against Vandy. Hotty Toddy!!!!
I love our traditional Red jersey, grey pants with Red/Navy stripe with Navy w/red stripe helmet. I would love to see us with a reversal helmet Red w/navy stripe when wearing our Navy jersey or the solid blue Uniform that needs some Red in it. We need to get rid of the Solid white and solid grey. I am excited about the #38 helmets for Chucky Mullins Day & I would also like for us to wear those every year when we play Vandy. Whatever we do, we should never bring back those horrible powder blue helmets. They were a mistake then & would be again. Anyway, HOTTY TODDY!! Go Rebs!!!
As a die hard Rebel, we should never bring back the powder blue. They were a mistake then (literally) and would be a mistake now. We need to stay with our Navy Blue with Red. Maybe try a reverse Red with Navy Blue stripe.
