They've done polls like this for years and A&M has consistently ranked near or at top for all stadiums, even when in the Big12. The only difference is that we stood out in the Big12. Now that we're in with the SEC big boys, it's only getting better. I still get a sense that there folks out there that truly don't understand the scope of what A&M is and where we're heading. It's understandable because of the newness. Hopefully more folks will get the chance to visit the campus and stadium to get a better understanding.
I can understand why some of our conference brethren would feel this way. We're still the new kids on the block. What some may not realize is that A&M fans have supported the program well regardless of performance. We take a lot of pride in showing up and supporting our football. That would still be happening even if JFF didn't exist. To me, the move to the SEC has had more of an impact on excitement and attendance going forward. JFF just added to it. Look at it in terms of who we now play. From where we came from, playing the SEC West, plus eUSC, is like having a bowl game every week. That's the true impact.
Crap, I can't find a way to edit my earlier post. The North Zone is the existing structure that was built in the late 90's and was left as is. The South Zone is what's new. The new South Zone is were the additional seats expansion is taking place. When the West side gets torn down and rebuilt, Kyle will actually lose 5000 seats.
bsums, the redevelopment of Kyle is a complete renovation of the stadium. You don't spend 450 million just to add 20,000 seats. The south Zone, second and third decks on the student side will be the only structures that aren't new. Even those will have updated concourses and amenities. When the West side is completely imploded and rebuilt after this season, Kyle will arguably be the nicest college stadium in the country. Go to kylefield.com to get a better idea of what it will look like.
