GA Transplant

It might also be good to note that out of all the SEC teams, UT boasts the best series record. If you take out these last few years (when UT has been slumping), then the record is nearly .500. UT will once again become a problem for Bama one day....
I had the same basic thoughts. I was sure Bama would lose 3+ regular season games going into the season. LSU and A&M ended up pretty much where I expected them (can't call those failures), and Arkansas can only be called a success due to where they had been since John L. Smith took the reins (not knocking Arkansas, BTW...).
I am from GA, and so is my sister (which makes her NOT a Bama girl...). That was a pretty funny comeback, though. I didn't say MOST (or even many) Alabama girls, just some.
Maybe not, but I've seen some Alabama girls that would make her look like a 6 (maybe a 7...).
I couldn't agree more. He has done some great things at Mississippi State. I can't see them not doing what they can to keep him.
Truth be told, I don't believe Mississippi State would have made the playoffs even if they won the Egg Bowl. Not because I don't think they're good enough, but because they didn't get to play in a conference championship game. Ohio State jumped 2 spots to #4 with their B1G Championship win, right?
Excellent. I love seeing SEC players win these post-season awards! Too bad he couldn't pull in the Outland as well.
I certainly hope so. I hate to see any player hurt, but especially a game-changer like Treadwell.
Hang in there, bud. That wonderful thing we endure the summer for will grace the Saturday airways once again. I'm expecting Arkansas to have a great year in 2015.
I was thinking the exact same things. A #1 team being beaten will usually be called an upset (Bama was #1 then, and they made it back to #1 before the end of the season...).
Make no mistake. Missouri had a great season, especially after losing the talent they had last season. Before a couple of games ago, I would've wondered how Missouri's passing game would look next year. Then this Hunt kid comes out and takes 3 nice passes to show us EXACTLY what Missouri's passing will look like. I don't think Missouri will be too far down on the list next year. Florida and Carolina will be rebuilding, Tennessee will likely still be rebuilding, Vanderbilt is gonna be Vanderbilt, and I'm not sure what Kentucky is gonna bring. The top 2 should be Missouri and Georgia, and I see these two schools duking it out for quite some time. You guys may just have a new hated-more-than-any-other-team-in-your-history rival coming up soon. SEC!!!
Thanks, SDS. You didn't have to do that for us. REALLY. You didn't have to do that.... That much being said, I did enjoy the "safety valve" comment.
Looks like some good watchin' coming up. SEC!!!
My thoughts as well, more or less. Cooper was special enough to draw attention away from White on a TD play, if I remember correctly. Any player can be stopped - but at what expense?
I love what Mullen has done at Mississippi State. Props given to the players and the coaching staff! Represent the SEC (AKA the best conference in the NCAA) well in your bowl game. SEC!!!
The referee WAS doing his job. The only reason I said anything about your capitalization was that you seem to take pride in your academic accomplishments (and you should) while not using the skills you were taught. I would be interested to know why you think I am a backwoods T-shirt wearing fan if I actually cared about your perception of me at all. It is clear that I am dealing with someone who truly believes himself to be above all others, without any "proof" at all. Go ahead and keep posting, I'm sure there's no way you're going to let some perceived backwoods redneck be your intellectual equal (or better). Or, you could simply realize that you inferred incorrectly the thoughts of a total stranger on the internet. Whatever gives you peace, my friend.
"Apparent intent". I believe the operative term would be "apparent". How is the referee supposed to determine intent? If there's any question, then the call will be made. Therefore, intent will not likely play into the call. As for getting an education, I see you posted you made a B in Accelerated Composition II (and yet failed to capitalize both words in the course title...). This implies you have an impressive command of the English language. Yet, somehow, you don't seem to be able to determine the difference between intent and apparent intent. Why so much rage? Do you feel as though you have to tear down others to be a real boy?
In all fairness, most Missouri fans posting here seem to support the call.
I guess you can use that "twice is a coincidence" piece so you can still support Dillon Day, I guess.
Exactly. Damage caused from shots to the head are cumulative, and dead brain cells are never replaced (a child is born with about 75% of the neurons they will die with as an adult). I think many people think they rule is bad because of how badly it was originally written and applied; I also believe the rule should stand.
Yeah, I totally agreed with the no-call against Arkansas. Allen should have been taken out of that game long before that....
I think there was a little misunderstanding there. Hopefully he'll play the whole bowl game. Ray is a fine player and Missouri is fortunate to have him. SEC!!!
Oh, and thanks Bamatime and Thor. You understood EXATCLY my "intent"....
Wow. That was a little harsh, bud. Of course intent matters if I was calling Ray a dirty player. I meant that intent doesn't matter as to whether it's called targeting or not. Simply put, intent does not factor into a targeting call. Response truncated to protect the dimwitted.
The play was actually far closer to targeting than rouging the passer. I agree that Ray is not a dirty player, and this type of thing happens more than it should without intent. However, intent does not matter.
Shouldn't this team have a punter? May I suggest JK Scott?
That's along the lines of what I was thinking. The only thing I can imagine is the possibility of football lovers not being who got polled. I was raised in GA but now live in AL. I know for a fact that there are MANY more UGA fans than GT fans (Iet's not even bother with State or Southern - nobody but alumni care about those teams). Bama fans outnumber Auburn fans in AL as well (although not by nearly as wide a margin as in GA).
Yeah, I was kinda surprised to see that myself.
