I have met him. Not fat....and I am not small - but was compared to him. LOL. I actually stood with several members of the offensive line and felt VERY small. These guys are so big and so fast. Unless you have played with them, you really can't relate completely.
My German to French to English translator is not working very well today.
A few years ago we were trying to win 3 or 4 games. I remember very clearly trying to pick out three or four games on the schedule we had a chance to win. It takes decades to build a perennial top 10. Ole Miss has only had a few top Ole Miss has only had a few top recruiting classes. It will take several more.
Would the player have passed the ball had he not been tackled? No. Therefore, the tackle caused the player to lose the ball. Had the player not been tackled, he would have kept the ball. Whether or not he passed the ball BECAUSE he was tackled or WHILE being tackled - the tackle caused the player to lose possession of the ball. Therefore, it could have been called a fumble. I think he threw it backwards and got lucky. American Football is a strange game. Throwing the football behind you without looking? We called it Smear the Queer when I was a youngster in Germany.
Glad no one was hurt and always happy to help, win or lose. MSU would have done the same thing for us and some would have made jokes. To each his own. It all worked out.
#DakNeedsTheHeimlich Funny than that?
I really can't decide if the way Mullen acts appeals to premier players or not. He has done a great job with 3 star recruits and I believe he is a good coach. But a kid that is trying to decide between schools (especially State or Ole Miss) has to consider that Mullen is talking out of both sides of his mouth: 1) Mullen really wants you to come to Mississippi State. 2) If you go to Ole Miss, he will never ask you "How do you like Ole Miss?"..or "I wish you well at Ole Miss" - for the rest of your life - because a grown man cannot say the words "Ole Miss." Maybe players are that immature. I am sure most are because they are kids. Just doesn't seem like a good way to show you want to build real relationships. This is so lame compared to the Spurrier/Swinney stuff. hahahaha.
This bothers people? Seriously? With all the hash tags and other BS that went on ALL YEAR - which has now disappeared? Ok. Serious question: Why was this lame or inappropriate? Because it was from a player, or injured player?
Mississippi State's biggest rivalry is Ole Miss. Ole Miss has LSU...then Mississippi State. It was always a let down to play Starkville Miss right after LSU. We used to say, "What are they so pissed off about?" Hahahaha. (I know this from personal experience). There is a reason you hear "GO TO HELL LSU!" during and after the national anthem from Ole Miss fans. Currently, you hear "Go to hell Dan Mullen" but thats about it concerning our Starkville Miss little brother.
Sorry about that. The 6 & 8pm kickoffs make The Grove a bit hard to handle for some of the less seasoned Rebels. Obviously. To expand on this, how is it that easy to get access to a quarterback or any player? Yes. You should have kept rolling. Very disappointed in you for that! Hahahaha
You can't fault the backups for trying. In a competitive program, they are trying to show they can play. I have first hand experience of having the score run up by 2nd and 3rd string All Americans at Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia back in the 80's and 90's. When a team's 2nd and 3rd string is running dive plays for 15 yards a pop, that is football. No one should be upset by this. (1987 UT vs. UM in Knoxville. 55-13 as a reference). Now, had we been throwing the ball and in a no huddle offense, yes, I would think that was classless. But Freeze, unfortunately, seems to lack that killer instinct that may come back to bite him in the butt. I hope I am wrong, or that the players have the killer instinct instead.
Having been on the sidelines, a "rough catch" of an opposing player who is running out of bounds occurs all the time. The fact that a coach or graduate assistant gets a little fired up and tries to trip someone is hilarious. The fact that you do not see the attempted trip confirms the gut feeling you have had for some time: Go to the eye doctor immediately. It is unsafe for you to operate a vehicle with your poor eyesight.
Nice...and to my point. No easy way to execute a blind-side.
We called it getting "ear-holed" back in the day. I would have put the my face mask into the side of his helmet. Had he put his shoulder into his rib cage (where there is less protection), he could have broken his ribs, punctured a lung, or worse. It is a blind-side hit. No matter where he hits him, it will be bad. Generally, the rules are limiting head-to-head blows. Many of us walking around do not even know the damage that may have been done. Time will tell.
You guys are all wrong. That is the "Vulcan Nerve Pinch" applied from the front. The aggressor is completely immobilized and then trampled. It was used in a similar fashion on Dr. McCoy in "The Wrath of Khan." Sheesh.
Fans mixing with the players is an awesome experience. The athletes are for the most part very separate from the students. After a big win, there is unity. Kind of like the unity of Alabama fans rushing the parking lot after the game.

Elston was ejected last year for targeting - and should have been under the current rules. Having a history of bad sportsmanship should have a consequence. Word is Elston was trying to kick the ball out of his arms. (If you watch much football you will see defenders slapping the football from offensive players all the time.) Kenyan got hurt which is terrible. Elston made a kicking motion which is terrible - especially right now. I am sure Freeze thought a suspension may be coming any way and got out in front of the issue.
