DC you are spot on. Mizzou has the coaches and talent to get to the big game but that's where the rubber meets the road. Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, etc typically recruit better players . Those guys don't rebuild, they reload. Mizzou is there on the Dline and a few other places but the Oline this year was really average at best. They couldn't open holes for the RB's against the better teams. The Tigers rushed for 40 yards in the SECCG! If Mizzou wants to compete for national championships with the more traditional powers then they have to recruit better players and not let them leave Missouri. They need to win the Ezekial Elliots, the Davis twins, Ofodile, and Hentges plus get some 5 stars from other states. Why on earth would the Davis twins NOT want to go to Missouri? It's D-Line U for crying out loud. That being said, Pinkel is a great coach and I'm glad we have him. MIZ!

I agree with most of what you said, however the loss of DGB seriously impacted the receiving corps in 2014. Sasser had a great year but White and Hunt are not anywhere close to what DGB brings to the table. It's too bad he was such a knucklehead off the field.

I think LSU's is the best one.

SEC Now is one of the worst sports news shows out there. The set is horrendous. All you have to do is compare any other "news and information" set on cable and the SEC Now comes up last. The set is way too crowded and the people don't come off very professional. It looks like 3 guys in a phone booth who can't afford decent suits. The network needs to reach out to the schools and get some programming from them. SEC universities are some of the finest in the nation but you would never know it by the 2nd rate network that carries their name.

Wolfman, you're spot on but they still need better quality players to win at the championship level, not only at receiver but other areas as well. We rushed for about 40 yards in the SEC championship game. When Georgia lost Gurley up stepped an even better Chubbs. Mizzou needs to get better recruits.

Mizzou needs to recruit better. They let Bama get a 5 star tight end out of the state and while Mizzou Made is great, it doesn't always equate to immediate results. They could really use a good JUCO wideout to step in and anchor this group until they get up to speed.

Mississippi State's going to crush GT in the Orange Bowl. Can't wait!

I agree to a point but financing isn't what we're talking about. I wish Mizzou had some of the MSt players like Dak Prescott who had a phenomenal year. I also have no doubt the the Bulldogs will destroy GT in the upcoming bowl game but there were many other SEC teams with more talent that did less than MIzzou(Georgia anyone?). Missouri lost 16 starters! Pinkel got a silk purse from a sow's ear. That being said, I would feel burned if Pinkel's team had the year Mississippi State had and then another coach from a team with less talent got the COY award. Bring those cowbells to the Orange Bowl and beat the snot out of those YJ!

Don't underestimate Coach Kool. If he gets the job good things will happen at Mizzou.

Dan Mullen is a great coach and did a super job at Mississippi State but Pinkel did more with less than probably any coach in the country. I don't care what league you play in 10 wins is a damn fine season.

stchman: Don't judge all SDS fans by the few trolls that come on Mizzou threads by the 2 or 3 losers that seem to be KU fans. Any Georgia fan who rips Missouri is deluding themselves. Theirs is a team of high level recruits that didn't get it done. Their coach is not the Coach of the Year. Nobody on their defense is player of the year. As a whole, Georgia wasn't as good as Mizzou this year or last. Any Bama fan who blasts Missouri should reflect on the major screw ups from their own team like the embarrassing loss to that loud-mouth Bob Stoop's team in the Sugar Bowl and the lousy kicker and poor special team's play that cost them a trip to the NCG.

The Florida, SC, and GT losses were much worse than Mizzou's IU loss. Because of those games your team didn't win it's division, and was de-balled by GT in state. LOL!

Georgia has some of the best players in the SEC. I still don't know how they lost to SC and Florida after they beat Mizzou pretty good.

I disagree with Brad. Missouri will get the last official visit from five-star defensive lineman Terry Beckner Jr. from E. St. Louis soon and appears to be in increasingly good shape with the Davis twins of Blue Springs who decommitted from Nebraska after Bo Pellini was fired. Terry Beckner is more important.

Marcus Murphy was the leading all purpose player in the SEC no matter how much you wish for Pharoh Cooper. The player who was ripped off was Bud Sasser who definitely was better and more important to his team the PC.
