I think the game sets up as pretty even and wouldn't be surprised if the game is settled by a late score. But this is the first game of the season where crazy things happen. I'm excited and anxious at the same time. I don't think our OL is as weak as people say (may have lost "starters" but still have lots of experience on the line) but we also can't expect our passing game to be firing at all cylinders out of the gate. Both teams are going to be good and this is the kind of football you want every week. The homer in me has Ole Miss winning based on QB play with FSU committing too many turnovers (similar to what happened in the Ole Miss vs bama game) to overcome.
It's just another mascot the Chancellor is trying out...
It's sad... this site used to be pretty good, but now they rely on getting their facts from Wikipedia and stubhub. Can't even go to the sources for info anymore. A simple search of the school's websites would give you accurate stadium capacities. In a matter of 5 minutes I was able to find the correct capacities for Ole Miss and MSU... get you act together SDS.
I don't see how this is classified as a trap game? A trap game is generally the game you don't focus on because you're looking to the game with you next opponent. Two ranked undefeated teams doesn't seem like a game a team looks passed, especially for ole miss when it's on the road.
Florida gets to play 2 home games as a double-header this week to make up for last years cancelled game??
Alright so I know there is a new tie-breaker system for the SEC so can someone explain what would happen in this hypothetical (but very possible) scenario: Ole Miss finishes 11-1 with a loss to Auburn; Miss St finishes 11-1 with a loss to Ole Miss; and Auburn Finishes 11-1 with a loss to Miss St.
I'll have to agree with bold predicition #3. Ole miss is very capable of beating Tennessee by 30 points but with the two big wins over ranked opponents I think Ole Miss plays down to their competition in this one and doesn't get as aggresive on the offensive side of the ball to allow the rebels to control the clock/limit turnovers and just get this game out of the way. Look for lots of short routes and added emphasis on improving the run game.
Even more interesting... The Top 5 has 6 games... sweet graphic
I know this is going to sounds like a homer comment, but I don't see how the Jeff Scott 75-yd TD run vs Vandy to give the Rebels back the lead doesn't at least crack the top 10.
I believe it was a closet that he came out of...
Didn't you see that clip where Jeff Scott was breaking Vandy's heart (1:28)? See, you guys were included....
