Nick Saban explains blank stare in viral College GameDay dancing moment with Pat McAfee
Nick Saban and Pat McAfee are quickly developing strong chemistry as colleagues on ESPN’s College GameDay.
Last week, during Saban’s first on-campus taping of GameDay, ESPN cameras caught a clip of McAfee dancing along to Lil Jon’s ‘Snap Yo Fingers’ while Saban sat quietly during a commercial break.

The clip sparked some viewers to wonder if the legendary coach was annoyed with McAfee’s antics — perhaps to the point that he would leave the show. McAfee asked Saban about the moment during a segment on his show on Friday.
Saban confirmed he had blank look on his face because he was listening to producers during the commercial break. But he also offered a different explanation:
“I’m thinking ‘when are you going to ask me to dance?'” Saban quipped.
Here’s video of the moment from Friday:

The Saban-McAfee partnership has proved to be a brilliant pairing for GameDay so far. ESPN announced earlier this week that GameDay’s Week 1 broadcast was its most-watched pre-November show of all time.
Saban and McAfee will be back on the GameDay set on Saturday morning in Ann Arbor.
