AP No. 2 Alabama (10-1 SU, 3-7 ATS) opened as a single-digit favorite against Auburn at minus-nine. It’s not a surprising spread considering the teams will meet in Bryant-Denny Stadium in a revenge game for the Crimson Tide, while the Tigers have fallen to 8-3.

Some gambling analysts projected a double-digit number as recently as last week.

In another mild surprise, Ole Miss is favored to win the Egg Bowl at home despite a 30-point road loss to a then 5-5 Arkansas team on Saturday. The Rebels would be about a two-point neutral-site underdog against State at a neutral site, according to that initial line.

Meanwhile, Kentucky needs to win as a 14-point road underdog to give the SEC 13 bowl-eligible teams, while LSU can finish no worse than fifth in the SEC West with a win as a road favorite against Texas A&M.

South Carolina-Clemson (Deshaun Watson) and Arkansas-Missouri (Brandon Allen) aren’t posted to to health uncertainties at quarterback

Arkansas continues to crush the Vegas line this season, moving to 9-2 ATS and 6-5 SU. The Razorbacks are a combined +127 ATS this season, including a SU win against Ole Miss, 30-0, as a three-point underdog.

But the market is a cruel one. Auburn, last year’s ATS darling in the SEC, is 4-7 in Vegas this year for a combined -47.5, dealing with greater expectations and fewer fortunate breaks.
