Suspended for the rest of the season and half of the 2016 campaign for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs in October, Grier has appealed the NCAA’s policy for banned substances.

He says he unknowingly bought an over-the-counter muscle enhancer that was on the NCAA’s list of banned substances.

According to The Orlando Sentinel:

To get his 12-month suspension reduced, Grier would have to win his appeal on procedural grounds, questioning how the test sample was collected, or on knowledge grounds, arguing he didn’t know what he was putting into his body or questions the specific banned substance.
