The Tennessee Volunteers have been picked by many to win the SEC East. Part of it has been because of the sole number of returning starters and part of it has been because of who exactly those players returning are.

According to the team’s official Snapchat account, it seems as though the team should be favored based on speed, as well. Thanks to 247 Sports, the picture showed a 20+ mph club and a 16+ mph club.

On top of that 20+ mph club were two newcomers, Tyler Byrd, who was clocked at 23.7 mph and Nigel Warrior, at 21.6 mph. Senior linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin currently sits at No. 3 at 21.2 mph, while senior defensive back Malik Foreman is at 21.1 mph.

Cameron Sutton, a pre-season All-SEC candidate, is clocked right at 21 mph. The other on the list include the team’s star running back, Jalen Hurd, Marquill Osborne, John Kelly, Jeff George, Josh Smith, Justin Martin and Darrin Kirkland Jr.

Finally, on top of the 16+ mph club, is newcomer Jonathan Kongbo. Kongbo is a 282-pound defensive lineman. The Volunteers have speed, even up front, it seems. Five defensive linemen in total are currently on the 16+ mph list.
