Nick Chubb flipped the script Saturday.

After months of speculation about whether Chubb would be healthy enough to play, Georgia’s junior tailback sensation picked up right where he left off in 2015, leading Georgia’s offense against North Carolina.

Chubb had rushed for 100 yards in 13 consecutive games when Georgia’s bus pulled in front of Neyland Stadium last October. He was injured on his first carry against Tennessee and lost for the season.

Surgery, rehab and endless Twitter updates followed.

Few expected him to return so soon. Fewer expected him to return this well.

Chubb’s first carry Saturday went for 6 yards. His second carry went for 13. By the time the first half ended, Chubb had topped 100 yards for the 14th time in his career. He finished the half with 118 yards and a touchdown as Georgia built a 14-10 lead.
