Video: Florida opens SEC Championship Game by scoring first TD against Alabama since Oct. 22

Much was made of Alabama’s defense not allowing an offensive touchdown in the month of November. In fact, the Tide hadn’t allowed an offensive touchdown since facing Texas A&M on Oct. 22.
However, to start December, the Crimson Tide allowed a touchdown to Florida on the first drive of the SEC Championship Game.
The Gators drove down the field on the stout Alabama defense, capping the drive with a touchdown pass from QB Austin Appleby to WR Antonio Callaway.
The five-yard touchdown pass, seen above, gave the Gators a 7-0 lead. The Florida defense then forced Alabama to go three-and-out on its first offensive possession.
It’s still early, obviously, but the last time an Alabama team allowed an opening-drive touchdown, it resulted in the school’s last loss:
That was the first touchdown Alabama has allowed on an opening drive since the Ole Miss game. In 2015.
