LSU got the win over Tennessee, but the weather turned out to be one of the biggest headlines of the evening.

A huge front of thunderstorms that wreaked havoc on games throughout the day barreled down on Knoxville Saturday evening. The Tigers and Volunteers were already playing when the storms arrived and continued to play through the torrential downpour.

The storms were so fierce that Tennessee had issues locating the ball on the second half kickoff. The Vols would fall on the ball deep inside their own territory and were forced into a quick punt by the Tigers defense.

Head coach Ed Orgeron recounted the weather conditions during his Monday press conference, and he said that it was difficult for either team to even see the ball at the start of the third quarter.

LSU Football shared video of Coach O’s comments:

LSU would go on to win the game by a score of 30-10. The Tigers are now 8-3 on the season heading into Saturday’s game against Texas A&M. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm EST on the SEC Network.
