Reactions to Tennessee's wild coaching search: Did Jeff Brohm get cold feet?
Tennessee’s pursuit of Purdue coach Jeff Brohm is the latest chapter in what been an unprecedented coaching search.
After Tennessee pulled back on its interest in Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano, and Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy turned the job down earlier this week, Brohm was the next serious contender for the job.
A report from Jimmy Hyams of WNML about an announcement that the school would hire Brohm has been met with several reports that have said an imminent deal is not true.
Brohm is in his first season at Purdue after he was the Western Kentucky coach for three years, and played at Louisville as a quarterback where he later coached under Bobby Petrino.
Some questioned the timing of leaving Purdue after one season, while others said Brohm might wait for the Louisville job to open and return home. There was also talk, and a post from a recruit, of Brohm being out of town recruiting.
SOURCE: Nothing is imminent regarding a #Tennessee coaching hire. Reports that a deal is almost done w/ #Purdue coach Jeff Brohm are not accurate.

Coaches can certainly lie out their ass about taking jobs but Jeff Brohm is telling recruits he's not going to Tennessee.

Told by both sides that no deal is in place between Tennessee and Purdue's Jeff Brohm and not close to being done at this point, although there have been discussions.

Purdue University football coach Jeff Brohm was at Christian County High School today to visit 2018 commit Cory Trice. According to Trice, Brohm said he’s not leaving the Boilermakers for Tennessee. https://t.co/TKmPnJIn9L

Everybody has a price. Anything is possible. But nothing about this Brohm-to-UT talk makes sense to me. Not the guy breaking it. Not the recruiting visit this a.m. Not the one-year stay at Purdue. Not the job/administration he’d be leaving for. Nothing.

What was your favorite Tennessee head coach hire of this search? Mine was Schiano followed by Brohm

If Jeff Brohm says no because he really wants Louisville, where do the #TennesseeVols go from there. The search would become even more humiliating, which is a tough standard to meet.
