Every year, talented players fall in the NFL Draft for reasons outside their control. This year, that was the case for Texas A&M S Armani Watts.

Watts eventually landed with the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round — a pick that has been praised by many analysts.

In fact, NFL.com analyst Elliot Harrison said he believes the Chiefs’ pick of Watts was one of the best selections of Day 3 of the draft:

Watts could qualify as a steal from this draft. Watts should compete for a starting job in training camp, and with Eric Berry returning from injury, he could be part of a transformation on coordinator Bob Sutton’s defense. Solid coaching should help him capitalize on immense athletic ability. Always respect four-year starters like Watts.

Watts will have a lot to learn from Berry, a former Vol, but he couldn’t ask for a better mentor.

If he brings the same ballhawking skills he had at Texas A&M to Kansas City, Watts could be an impact player for the Chiefs for several years to come.
