Former Alabama S Landon Collins missed a portion of the 2017 season after suffering a broken forearm. Then, the first surgery didn’t take, so he had to have a second procedure to fix the arm in April.

Even with that setback, Collins is hoping to return to the field sooner rather than later.

In fact, he told Tom Rock of NewsDay that he will be pushing to be back on the field by the time the New York Giants’ minicamp begins in the middle of June:

As for his own progress, Collins said he is able to run while rehabbing his forearm and should be cleared in a few weeks. Collins said he’ll push to participate in minicamp in mid-June, but will abide by the decisions of the coaching staff and medical personnel.

With the Giants undergoing a coaching change this offseason, having Collins on the field to learn the new system will be important.

He’s an outspoken leader of the New York defense, so whenever he can play, the Giants will welcome him back with open arms.
