First major upset of the year: Down goes No. 23 Texas to … Maryland

The first major upset in college football 2018 happened Saturday when unranked Maryland beat No. 23 Texas 34-29.

Yes, the same thing happened in 2017 when Maryland beat the Longhorns 51-41. Last year, it was more forgiving for Texas head coach Tom Herman because it was his first season. This year, it’s inexcusable, especially in Austin.

Maryland’s head coach DJ Durkin is also on administrative leave after the explosive report regarding his program. So, that means that Maryland’s upset was orchestrated by former LSU OC Matt Canada. That’s right.

The Longhorns were driving down 34-29 late in the fourth quarter, and Maryland picked it off to end the game.

Obviously, following the upset, Texas fans were already calling for Herman’s job:
