Alabama got by without a key freshman on Saturday, but the immediate prognosis is not positive, according to coach Nick Saban.

Before the Crimson Tide routed Arkansas State, 57-7, Jalyn Armour-Davis, a 4-star recruit, suffered a knee injury and was spotted on the sideline with crutches, AL.com reported. Saban said an MRI is scheduled for Sunday to learn the severity of the damage.

“It doesn’t seem good,” Saban said. “But until we get verification and the doc tells me what needs to be done, we’ll kind of hold that.”

The freshman had played well in practice, and the coaching staff felt good about him.

“He has been doing a good job,” Saban said. “He would be the fifth corner on our team….We’ll see how this injury sort of plays. But the doc wasn’t optimistic. Let me put it that way.”
