Have you ever dreamed of being a bloomin’ onion? OK, not many of you have, but if the thought has ever happened to cross your mind, now’s your chance to fulfill that wish.

The Outback Bowl announced Thursday that it’s taking submissions for the honor of wearing its Bloomin’ Onion mascot  costume at this year’s game. It’s a continuation of a tradition that began last year when the bowl’s organizers gave into an internet joke and allowed SB Nation writer Ryan Nanni to don its Bloomin’ Onion attire.

Thanks to a steady stream of supports tweeting the hashtag “#FryinNanni” at Outback Steakhouse’s official account, Nanni was able to turn what started as a passing joke into an actual quarter-long stint as the bowl’s mascot. He made the most of it during last year’s game between South Carolina and Michigan, emphatically sprinting up and down the sidelines in pure bliss.

It’ll be a tough act to follow, but if you think you can outdo Nanni, you have until Nov. 18 to apply for the gig. You can view the official rules for the contest here.

The Outback Bowl, which has SEC and Big Ten tie-ins, will be played on New Year’s Day as usual.
