Ole Miss QB Jordan Ta’amu left the Egg Bowl in the first quarter due to an injury.

On the Rebels’ second drive of the game, Ta’amu fumbled, and while making the tackle, Ta’amu apparently hurt his pinkie finger on his right hand.

The very next drive, freshman QB Matt Corral entered the game and completed a nice 26-yard pass. Ole Miss, however, later punted on the drive.

ESPN sideline reporter Laura Rutledge said that Ta’amu is probable to return to the game, but it’s unknown if that will be on the next drive or not. It was also obvious that Corral hurt his throwing hand while catching passes on the sideline.

Mississippi State leads the Rebels 7-0 at the start of the second quarter.
