Oops: Social media is calling out Emmitt Smith after College GameDay gaffe

Every now and then, analysts get certain teams confused. That’s what happened on ESPN’s College GameDay on Saturday.

Celebrity guest picker Emmitt Smith, a Florida legend and NFL Hall of Famer, was in town to discuss the Auburn-Florida game, and it’s clear he didn’t do his homework on Kansas or Kansas State. Interestingly, Smith was already in town due to his son, EJ, taking an official visit to Florida. Smith’s son is a 4-star running back and ranked in the top five all-purpose backs in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

As you can see in the clip below during the picks portion of the show, Smith talks about Les Miles not having things going at Kansas when picking the Baylor-Kansas State game:

Baylor may end up winning, but the Bears won’t be getting that win against Kansas. No, the Wildcats are who they’re playing instead. People were quick to call Smith out on Twitter:

Hopefully the team ended up in Manhattan and not Lawrence.
