Now past the midseason point in the season, the contenders to reach Atlanta for the SEC Championship have established themselves.

The SEC Network has updated its Power Rankings after Week 8 action as there are only two undefeated teams remaining in conference play, but four teams have just one loss, so the month of November should further separate the teams in line to win their division.

There aren’t many objections to LSU and Alabama being the top 2 teams, however, Georgia at No. 3 is up for a hearty debate after the Bulldogs offense has struggled the last 2 games. Georgia will get chances to prove itself with 3 straight division games after this week’s bye week and ahead of the Texas A&M home finale.

Down the standings in the East, Vanderbilt got a boost ahead of Tennessee thanks to its inspiring upset of Missouri, while the Vols may have had a moral victory at Alabama in a loss.

The West has its own issues outside of the titanic clash ahead on Nov. 9 between LSU and Alabama. The Mississippi schools are each facing similar issues with multiple quarterbacks and the fan bases losing some patience with the coaching staffs. Do the Bulldogs and Rebels both deserve to be behind Kentucky, which has struggled in recent weeks as it shifts to a new quarterback plan?
