Georgia basketball announces starter suspended indefinitely
Georgia basketball announced an indefinite suspension ahead of Wednesday night’s game against the North Carolina Central Eagles.
UGA has suspended sophomore forward Amanze Ngumaze from team activities. The 6-9, 235-pounder had started every game of the 2019-20 season so far, averaging 6.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
“There are a combination of factors involved in this decision, all of which are associated with his lack of personal awareness and attitude expected of a Georgia Basketball player,” Crean said in a statement provided to media members (seen below).
Georgia, which is 5-2 through the early non-conference slate, is already down G Jordan Harris until Dec. 20.
Georgia now has a second player suspended from the men’s basketball team. Amanze Ngumezi has started every game this season and this further thins frontcourt. Averages 6.1 points and 2.4 rebounds. Guard Jordan Harris already is out until Dec. 20. https://t.co/GFJPDyKeve
