Former Arkansas and Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt has kept his name around college football as he’s shifted from coaching to broadcasting at CBS Sports. Now there’s a report that Nutt is interested in returning to coaching.

“Multiple sources confirm that former Arkansas and Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt has “a very high interest” in the head coach opening at UTSA,” Brad Logan of the Clarion-Ledger reported. UTSA recently fired Frank Wilson after 4 seasons.

In stops at Boise State, Arkansas and Ole Miss, Nutt was 103-81 over 15 years, and he led his teams to 9 bowl appearances.

Nutt went 75-48 including a 42-38 mark in the SEC during his 10-year career in Arkansas. But one day after he resigned from Arkansas, he was hired as head coach of Ole Miss. He coached 4 seasons there before being fired at the end of the 2011 season.

The UTSA job isn’t the only one Nutt has reportedly shown interest in. During a recent radio interview on 103.7 The Buzz, Nutt showed interest in the Arkansas job.

“I can go on and on about the players who have reached out and said ‘Come on coach, come back and let’s get this thing going again,’” Nutt said on the show. “I’d like to, I would, but I’d only want to come back if they want me, if the athletic director [Hunter Yurachek], and the state wants me. It’d have to be that togetherness.”
