Kentucky has had several players enter the NCAA transfer portal over the past couple of weeks as the Wildcats work to get down to the scholarship limit of 85.

One of those players to enter the portal was DL Cavon Butler, who was a freshman in 2019. He was a 3-star defender out of Toledo.

Now, as you can see below, he’s heading back to his Ohio hometown. He tweeted on Tuesday that he was transferring to Toledo to play for the Rockets:

Unless the NCAA passes a 1-time transfer waiver, Butler will likely have to sit out the 2020 season, but will have 3 years of eligibility remaining when he returns in 2021.

We’ll see what direction his career goes in his hometown.
