Stadium atmospheres will be much different this year around the SEC, as most of the teams have come out with plan to cap capacity at about 20 percent.

Auburn, for one, is trying to prepare for the noise ahead of its season opener at Jordan-Hare Stadium next week against Kentucky. The Tigers used piped-in noise during a practice on Saturday, as Jake Weese of The Auburn Plainsman shared on Saturday. Because, even with just about 17,400 fans, combined with the piped-in noise, there is an unfriendly feel ahead for the Wildcats.

Auburn has said only students will be allowed in for the Kentucky game, but ticket allocations for future games will be announced at a later date. As the season progresses, the seating plan and configuration may change as additional information related to COVID-19 becomes available, the school announced.

“We look forward to having Auburn students in attendance at our season opener and appreciate everyone’s flexibility and understanding as we adjust to this temporary reality of reduced capacity at Jordan-Hare Stadium,” Director of Athletics Allen Greene said. “All attendees will share a responsibility for health and safety. A zealous commitment to face coverings, physical distancing and personal hygiene will lead to the best outcome.”
