There are plenty of eyes on Urban Meyer this season. He’s left strong impressions in his wake throughout his career.

Florida and Ohio State football fans certainly are watching Meyer, who is in his first season as the head coach of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. Meyer left both schools suddenly before returning to the sidelines. So far, that hasn’t gone so well.

Meyer certainly did not look like a championship coach on Sunday despite leading the Gators and Buckeyes to respective national titles. Meyer looked more like a coach that may have bitten off a bit more than he can chew with the Jaguars as they lost 37-14 to the Houston Texans.

Not much is expected out of either team this season. However, the Texans are often considered one of the worst franchises in the NFL. Several players have left the team in recent years. The Texans star player, quarterback DeShaun Watson, has publicly demanded a trade amidst an investigation into multiple off-field allegations. The allegations pertain to Watson’s behavior with female masseuses.

Meyer turned to another former Tiger to help the Jaguars when they selected Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 pick in the NFL. Lawrence had some nice moments but not nearly enough to keep Jacksonville in contention on Sunday. The loss opened up the social media gates for the fans that aren’t very fond of Meyer, who has been a polarizing figure since his time at Florida.

Here are some candid comments. Some were quite entertaining:

Things could get better for Meyer. Jacksonville returns home then will host the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
