Sam Pittman made an appearance on the “McElroy and Cubelic In the Morning” show on WJOX radio out of Birmingham for the coach to discuss his Arkansas Razorbacks who have now moved up to No. 8 in the country after soundly defeating Texas A&M, 20-10.

Greg McElroy asked the coach when he knew he had a special team and Pittman said this:

“I love the team for a long time because they are such hard workers,” he said.

Pittman continued to say he knew he had a special team when the Razorbacks played Rice.

“I felt it in the second half of the Rice game when we found out we had one hell of a running quarterback,” he said. “I’ve always had a lot of faith in KJ.”

Pittman said he knew he had a good defense, but when Jefferson made a play in the Rice game, he knew then that this team and quarterback was special.
