Former Alabama DC Tosh Lupoi asked about rumors linking him to Florida

Billy Napier has already made one splash hire for his Florida coaching staff, and Gator Nation is watching to see if another highly thought of assistant could be on his way to Gainesville.
On Thursday, Jacksonville Jaguars assistant Tosh Lupoi was asked about rumors linking him to Napier’s Florida staff. Lupoi said he’s currently focused on Jacksonville’s next opponent, the Tennessee Titans.
“I’m going to absolutely attack and focus in and hone in on our task at hand and that’s beating the Tennessee Titans. So anything else is an afterthought for me.”

Napier and Lupoi were on Nick Saban’s Alabama staff together from 2014-16. Lupoi, 40, has been in coaching since 2008, primarily coaching the defensive line, his current position on Urban Meyer’s Jacksonville staff. At Alabama, Lupoi started as an analyst in 2014 before coaching outside linebackers and eventually being promoted to defensive coordinator. Lupoi left Alabama for the NFL after the 2018 season. Napier left Alabama after the 2016 season.
