Sharife Cooper was a second-round pick of the Atlanta Hawks in the 2021 NBA Draft, going No. 48 overall.

The former Auburn star point guard played last season for the Hawks on a 2-way contract, which allows players to move between the NBA squad and a G League affiliate.

However, after signing a 2-way deal with the Hawks late last week, the team decided on Monday evening that it was going to waive Cooper instead:

Cooper appeared in 13 games as a rookie during the 2021-22 season. He averaged 3 minutes per game, scoring a total of 7 points to go with 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

Will he sign on with another NBA team? Or perhaps a G League team? We’ll see what the future holds for the former Auburn star.
