One of the more unique quarterback situations in the country resides in College Station, TX.

Last season, Haynes King won the job. Early on against Colorado State, King suffered a season-ending leg injury. Zach Calzada took over for King and had a decent season. He didn’t see a path to winning the starting job this season so he entered the transfer portal and ended up at Auburn.

In the transfer portal, the Aggies added Max Johnson, who was the starting quarterback at LSU this past season. Earlier today, Fisher spoke on the competition and how the scrimmage wouldn’t necessarily determine the starting quarterback.

ESPN’s Chris Low offered some insight on who he believes will be the starting quarterback come week one against Sam Houston State.

This should come as no surprise since King was a five-star recruit and won the job before his injury last season. With some dynamic quarterback play, the Aggies might be primed to make a run at the SEC West championship.
