Conference realignment has officially claimed its next victim. The Bedlam series between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma will end when the Sooners make the move to the SEC in 2025, per report.

Action Network’s Brett McMurphy reported the news Tuesday morning. Both Athletic Directors for the Cowboys and Sooners confirmed the development.

This is an objectively bad  development. Bedlam was one of the sport’s great rivalry games and was turning into instant fun at the end of every season. To see it go is a bummer.

Oklahoma State was the program that decided to pull the plug on the series.

“It (playing Oklahoma) presents logistical issues under our current (scheduling) structure,” Oklahoma State AD Chad Weiberg said, via McMurphy. “We don’t have any openings to play them. We’re full. Unless there are significant undertakings to make the game happen, it can’t happen.”

The series began way back in 1904 and has seen 116 matchups. Oklahoma has won 90 times, with the Cowboys winning 19 alongside 7 ties.
