Matt Corral wants to play for Frank Reich in Carolina, as the Panthers get set to begin the Bryce Young era at quarterback.

The former Ole Miss QB is 3rd on the depth chart behind Young and Andy Dalton. On the night the Panthers drafted the former Alabama QB, Corral posted to Instagram that said you’re in the “wrong place” if you’re “not appreciated” before closing with “don’t stay in a place where no one sees your value.” But asked about that on Monday, Corral said it had nothing to do with football, and it was personal.

Corral and Young have plenty in common, even before they were each SEC QBs. Corral told reporters on Monday that he’s known Young, a fellow SoCal QB, since he was in 7th grade. And that they’ve always been around each other, in the same area, going to the same camps.

The Panthers last week cut Jacob Eason and Reich said earlier in the day that the team did that in order to get Corral more reps during OTAs and complimented the quarterback’s approach to his current situation. He also said that Corral has to “play the long game” when it comes to approaching his chance to play in the NFL.
