Josh Downs had a remarkable touchdown catch in the 4th quarter of the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 8 game against the Houston Texans.
The Colts entered NRG Stadium on a two-game winning streak, looking to improve to 5-3 on the season and tie the Texans atop the AFC South. They had some work to do in the 4th, though, trailing 23-13 with less than 9 and a half minutes remaining in regulation as Houston sought to avoid their first 2-game losing streak of the season.
But Downs’s catch pulled the the Colts closer. Take a look at this sensational diving catch as the Colts came within a field goal:

Downs had a strong rookie season, making 68 catches for 771 yards and 2 touchdowns after being taken in the 3rd round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Entering Sunday’s game, he had 28 catches for 242 yards and a pair of scores, meaning he has passed his touchdown total from a year ago. After missing the start of the season due to a high ankle sprain, his best showing of 2024 was a 9-catch, 82-yard, 1-touchdown outing against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 4.
On Sunday, though, he surpassed that total, turning in his first 100-yard performance of his career thanks to a 69-yard catch earlier in the game.
