The 2022-23 Alabama basketball team is in a class by itself when it comes to bounce-back games. With the latest blowout win, Nate Oats’ squad accomplished something that college basketball hasn’t seen in decades.
Alabama has only lost 4 games during the season. After the last 2 losses, the Crimson Tide has bounced back with wins of 40 points or more over conference opponents. According to ESPN, it has been more than 40 years since another Division I team did that twice in the same season.
UA lost to Oklahoma on Jan. 28 and bounced back with a 101-44 win over Vanderbilt on Jan. 31. Wednesday, Alabama fell to Tennessee. On Saturday, the Tide defeated Georgia 108-59.
After Alabama’s loss to Oklahoma, they beat Vanderbilt by 57. Following their loss to Tennessee, they beat Georgia by 49.

As impressive as the stat is, Alabama hopes to avoid any more bounce-back situations, especially with March Madness just around the corner. UA is the current No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament. SEC Tournament play begins March 8, with the top 4 seeds in action on March 10.
UA is back in action Wednesday to face South Carolina in Columbia (8 p.m. CT).
