NCAA Tournament Selection Committee reveals current No. 1 overall seed for March Madness
The NCAA Tournament Selection Committee presented a preview of the March Madness bracket early Saturday afternoon. That preview included a glimpse at the No. 1 seeds, including the current projection for the top overall seed in the nation.
According to the selection committee, Alabama remains anchored into the No. 1 spot, even with the recent road loss to Tennessee. Houston checked in at No. 2 overall, a team the Crimson Tide beat at Houston in December for the head-to-head tie-breaker over the Cougars.
Purdue and Kansas would receive the other No. 1 seeds in the bracket if the NCAA Tournament started today:

Chris Reynolds — committee chairman and the AD at Bradley — had this to say about Alabama as the No. 1 overall seed:
“The No. 1 team is Alabama, on the strength of 13 wins in Quad 1 and 2. They have a very strong résumé, and that win at Houston put them over the top,” said Reynolds.

Alabama has 5 regular-season games remaining before heading into the SEC basketball tournament. We’ll see if the Crimson Tide can do enough to wrap up the top seed heading into the NCAA Tournament.
