Alabama slipped from the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 poll following a last-second win over Texas A&M when the Crimson Tide defense had to make a last-gasp stand on a pass near the goal line.
Jalen Milroe’s turnovers breathed life into the belief that Alabama needs Bryce Young more than ever, especially with a road game at Tennessee this week. The Heisman Trophy winner sat out Saturday night with a sore shoulder and the Aggies came within an incomplete pass of 2 straight victories against the Tide.
After 4 Alabama turnovers, 3 by Milroe, the backup QB, along with 2 missed field goals, it was a white-knuckle affair for the Crimson Tide.
The last time Alabama fell in the poll was also against a team from Texas, and that came following a 1-point win over the Longhorns.
Here’s a sampling of some of the reactions to the poll moves:
POLL ALERT: Georgia takes No. 1 back, Alabama drops to No. 3 and Ohio State lands in at No. 2.

How much poorly do Georgia and Alabama need to play for Ohio State to be ranked No. 1 in the AP poll?
Because if the point is show dominance that’s exactly what the Buckeyes have done.

That’s twice this season Alabama lost a No. 1 ranking after beating a team from Texas.

The Vols move up to #6 in this week’s AP poll. Alabama took a slide to #3. The Vols will look for their first win over a top 3 team in a very, very long time. ?

The REAL rankings that the AP poll is too afraid to come out with:
1. Ohio State
2. Georgia
3. Tennessee
4. Alabama5. Texas
6. Michigan
7. OK State
8. Clemson
9. USC
10. Ole Miss— Ryan Elderhorst (@ryanelderhorst) October 9, 2022
The only thing I am saying is that the AP poll consistently votes for Georgia and Alabama ahead of us no matter their struggles.

It doesn’t really matter in the end but Alabama needs to drop like Georgia did when they had close games versus unranked teams. Bama has barely won games (home & away) against two unranked teams (at that moment). AP poll needs to be consistent.
