An Alabama fan was so upset with the Crimson Tide’s performance in the loss at Auburn on Saturday that the fan went to Wikipedia to edit defensive coordinator Pete Golding’s profile.

Golding, “who was an awful and pathetic excuse of a defensive coordinator for the Alabama Crimson Tide, was the edited version of his profile.

The Crimson Tide gave up 354 total yards to the Tigers, including 23 first downs in the 48-45 loss at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The Tigers averaged 5.3 yards per carry for 181 yards.

Overall, Alabama’s defense has held up pretty well despite several injuries to key players. The Crimson Tide are fourth in the SEC in total defense at yielding 319 yards per game. They are third in passing defense at 183 yards, and seventh in rushing defense at 135 yards per game. They’ve given up 18.8 points per game, which is fifth in the league.

After the game, coach Nick Saban shared his thoughts about the defense.

“We didn’t play the run very well obviously,” Saban said, “and to be honest, I kept asking the question, ‘Why are they splitting that run?’ Based on the defense we called and the defense we were in, I thought we should be good. The quarterback pulled the ball down and scored a touchdown when the guy that had the quarterback didn’t take him, aight. It was a combination that I can’t really put my finger on right now relative to the execution, but somebody wasn’t in their gap, somebody didn’t do their responsibility. … Got to be able to stop the run better and create situations where you make them throw it so you have more chances to make plays on third down.”
