Nick Saban and Alabama would love nothing more than to gain a commitment from Arch Manning, the country’s No. 1 quarterback recruit in the class of 2023. The Crimson Tide appear to be in his top 5 along with Clemson, Georgia, Texas, and his grandfather Archie and uncle Eli’s alma mater of Ole Miss, and it’s possible we’ll know his college destination by the end of summer.

According to AL.com, Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien was in New Orleans on Wednesday to visit Isadore Newman School and check on the heralded quarterback recruit.

As Nick Alvarez notes, O’Brien was unable to speak with Manning himself due to NCAA recruiting regulations but did meet with his coaches.

Newman and Manning’s season came to an end in the Louisiana Division III state semifinals on Nov. 26 as it fell to eventual state champion Lafayette Christian 49-7.
