Arch Manning is the No. 1 ranked quarterback in the recruiting class of 2023. Some rank Manning as the nation’s No. 1 player for that class, too.

The New Orleans, La., product plays at Isidore Newman, the school where Peyton and Eli both played. The next great Manning is one of the most hyped recruits that we can remember. Some of that is fair due to his incredible ability, but it’s also unfair due to his last name and the expectations that come along with that.

According to reports, Manning has basically narrowed his interest down to 5 schools: Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas. LSU, as of now, may be on the outside looking in.

During ESPNU’s broadcast of Manning’s game Friday night, analyst Mark Schlabach gave insight to a potential commitment timeframe — this spring or summer.

“From what people have told me around Isidore Newman, I think he’ll wait for the coaching carousel to settle down after this season,” Schlabach said. “And then go out and make his official visits and come up with a decision late next spring or summer. But certainly Texas, Georgia and Alabama seem to think they’re in a pretty good position.”

According to Schlabach, Alabama and Georgia both feel good right now. Texas does, too.

Manning, of course, will be in Oxford Saturday to see the Rebels take on the LSU Tigers. Ole Miss is honoring Eli Manning, and it even changed up its field-look.
