ESPN FPI Rankings after Week 4: SEC team jumps multiple spots to No. 1

The Week 4 college football slate was absolutely electric. We had the No. 1 Texas Longhorns surviving a road scare against the No. 14 Tennessee Volunteers.
We had the Florida Gators routing the Ole Miss Rebels in the Swamp to stay unbeaten under coach Jon Sumrall.
We had Iowa beating Michigan on a last-second play that could only be considered karma for the Wolverines.
And we had the Mississippi State Bulldogs and QB Kamario Taylor surviving a scare from the Missouri Tigers.
That led to a shakeup in the ESPN Football Power Index (FPI). There’s a new No. 1 team this week, as the Georgia Bulldogs jumped 2 spots following a win over the Oklahoma Sooners.
Here’s a look at how the full top 25 shakes out after Week 4:

- Nebraska

That’s a grand total of 11 SEC teams in the top 25, which leads all conferences. The 5 SEC teams that didn’t crack the top 25 were South Carolina (No. 33), Mizzou (No. 35), Kentucky (No. 36), Vanderbilt (No. 51) and Arkansas (No. 60).
