Coaches Poll Week 5: Texas leads the way as SEC lands 9 teams in latest poll

The Week 4 USA Today Coaches Poll was released on Sunday following the best week of the 2026 college football season yet. As expected, Texas retains the top spot in the rankings after downing Tennessee at Neyland Stadium Saturday afternoon. Georgia sits at No. 2, with Alabama (No. 7) and Florida (No. 8) also cracking the top 10 among SEC teams.
Other ranked SEC teams include: LSU (No. 11), Ole Miss (No. 12), Mississippi State (No. 16), Tennessee (No. 17) and Mizzou (No. 25). Kentucky, Auburn, Texas A&M and Oklahoma also received votes.
