Brian Flores makes declarative statement about Tua Tagovailoa's future with Miami
Brian Flores has faced questions about Tua Tagovailoa’s future in Miami for weeks, and on Friday, he made his latest statement about the former Alabama quarterback.
“Tua is our quarterback,” the Miami Dolphins coach said, and added that Tagovailoa will be the QB for the rest of 2021 barring injury.
Tagovailoa was injured early in the season, but has rebounded to have solid passing numbers of 65-for-87 for 520 yards and 6 touchdowns with 3 interceptions while being sacked just once.
In the midst of that, Tagovailoa has faced questions about his future in Miami as reports have surfaced that the Dolphins are interested in trading for Deshaun Watson ahead of next week’s trade deadline.
Flores appeared to put that to rest on Friday.
Brian Flores said today, barring injury, Tua Tagovailoa will be the Dolphins QB for the rest of 2021. He noted when I say Tua is my QB, I am committed to him.

So Flores comment that Tua will be QB remainder of 2021 suggests it’s not likely Watson trade will be completed by Tuesday’s trade deadline. That would be best situation for Fins,so Tua can be given full year to evaluate.ESPN said he’s going to Miami or staying in Houston, period.
