Coastal Carolina has been one of the best stories of the college football season, even as the Chanticleers’ COVID-19 issues have canceled today’s Sun Belt title matchup.
The Chanticleers have shown they’ll play anyone, but would they really want to play No. 1 Alabama?
On FOX’s “Big Noon Kickoff,” analyst Brady Quinn prodded Coastal Carolina QB Grayson McCall into joking that the Chanticleers do indeed want Alabama:

McCall’s comments caused Urban Meyer to break down a potential matchup between the Chanticleers and the Crimson Tide (via 247Sports):
“I’m not sure the Chants want Bama,” Meyer said, laughing. “I’ll tell you what though, I’ve coached the Utahs … that’s a great football player and there’s great football players (at those schools), they just don’t have the depth.
“They can hang with them for a little bit, but …”
Not many teams can actually hang with Alabama. We have no doubt the Chanticleers wouldn’t be afraid of the challenge, though.
