After seeing what Ohio State did to Clemson in the semifinals of the College Football Playoff, many Alabama fans are anxious to see which version of the Buckeyes show up on Monday night in the title game.

Will it be the version that struggled against Indiana and Northwestern or the version that smoked Clemson?

During a recent appearance on Nashville-based Midday 180 of 104.5 The Zone, former Ohio State and Tennessee Titan running back Eddie George was asked to share his thoughts on the Buckeyes’ performance against Clemson.

“I thought they did a phenomenal job of getting after Trevor Lawrence and then Clemson offense, and making the adjustment of not being exposed on the perimeter,” George said on the show. “And they attacked the perimeter earlier on, had great success, but then as the game wore on, they made some great adjustments came up and pressed their receivers forced them to come inside.

“That’s a game that Clemson could not play on the inside with Ohio State, and I believe the Buckeyes took it personally and they did an exceptional job with that.”

Much like many of us, George expected Ohio State to slow down its offense after Justin Fields was injured against Clemson and the Buckeyes up big, but that’s not what happened.

If that version of Ohio State shows up, the former Heisman Trophy winner from Columbus believes his school will be bringing home another national title.

“Kudos to Justin Fields and just how he came back from the injury to the ribs,” George added. “I thought for sure that it would affect his game thereafter. I thought (Ohio State would just go with) short passes, run game, (just) hold on (to the lead), but they remained very aggressive in their play call and still was able to throw the ball deep.

“I don’t know where (Fields’) health is now, but that version of Ohio State, I don’t see anyone in the country that can play with them – including Alabama.”

That’s a bold comment but few saw Ohio State’s upset of Clemson coming either.
