Former Alabama coordinator who lasted just 1 year named NFL's top assistant coach
After leading the Alabama Crimson Tide offense to a great 2017 season and a national championship, OC Brian Daboll left for the NFL.
Since then, he’s been the offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills, who will face the Kansas City Chiefs for a spot in the Super Bowl this coming Sunday.
Daboll has helped QB Josh Allen develop into one of the more dynamic quarterbacks in the league, and for that, he has earned a top award.
The Pro Football Writers of America announced on Thursday that Daboll had been named the NFL Assistant Coach of the Year.
Daboll was linked to the Los Angeles Chargers’ head coaching opening this offseason, but the Chargers recently hired Brandon Staley instead.
Will Daboll soon get a head coaching gig? It seems he’s on that path.
What a terribling f—ing headline for this article, even for SDS.
Dabol didn’t “last just one year” at Bama.
That headline makes it sound like he was unsuccessful and was fired. Good Lord, SDS.
“I’m coming Elizabeth! It’s the big one!”

A Georgia fan saying something remotely positive about the Tide? Corch, you okay? Get your wife to check your temp! I’m worried about you, man.
Yeah it was clickbait and intentionally negative when there was no reason for it.
There are lot of gumps dumb enough to think Daboll was a bad coach at Alabama and was “asked to leave”.
Yeah he left because he wanted to go. I also know that HE wanted to start Tua earlier in the year but Saban was too loyal to Jalen to do it. It may have created a little friction, but not so much that winning a natty would not soothe it.
Adam Spencer, who lasted just 3 minutes, describes himself as a ladies man.
Not the only example of Adam’s new style of provocateur journalism lately
Nick ran him off — it worked out good for Brian
Actually he didn’t.
